WARANGAL: In a tragic incident, a pregnant woman lost her child as the ambulance in which she was shifted to a hospital got stuck in the mud on the road in Eturnagaram mandal of Mulugu district on Wednesday.

The woman was Yeniganti Ramya, resident of Koyaguda colony of Yellapur village, who developed labour pain in the morning. Her family dialed the 108 ambulance service for help. When it was shifting Ramya to a hospital and reached Ramnagar through Kamalapuram of Eturnagaram mandal, it got stuck in the mud road.

It was raining heavily in the agency areas of Mulugu district for the past two days due to the effect of the Michaung cyclone. The road was damaged due to water logging.

Ramya’s family sought help from the locals and they pulled the ambulance with a tractor and shifted her to the hospital. Meanwhile, the doctors found that the child was dead before delivery as the woman reached the hospital late.

The family members of Ramya were in deep sorrow and blamed the previous government for not taking up the road laying and repairing works after the road was washed away in the heavy rain in the region a few months back.
