Textile researcher meets KTR

HYDERABAD: A textile historian and researcher from the USA, Kyra Zapf, on Wednesday met with handlooms and textile minister K.T. Rama Rao at Pragathi Bhavan where the two exchanged views on textiles, and the textile industry. Kyra Zapf is in the state as part of her research work on weaving, and Telangana was her first stop in India. During this visit, she met with weavers in Pochampally,
Siddipet, Sircilla, Jangaon, Narayanpet, and Gadwal.

Appreciating her study by visiting several countries, Rama Rao said unbiased and learned opinions from those who study a subject can become valuable inputs that help in framing and amending public policy. The minister said the textile sector in Telangana, which was once in crisis, has started to thrive.
