HYDERABAD: The six-lane bi-directional Shilpa Layout flyover will opened for vehicles by the last week of November, the GHMC has said. It will increase road connectivity between the Financial District and Hitec City, and ease traffic at the Gachibowli junction.

The flyover, constructed under the Strategic Road Development Plan (SRDP), has a six-lane bidirectional flyover in the direction of Kondapur towards ORR at the second level crossing at Gachibowli junction, and a four-lane bidirectional flyover from Shilpa Layout to ORR near Gachibowli junction.

The GHMC said that from the Shamshabad airport to the Financial District, the route from ORR to Gachibowli would be directly accessible without any problems, but the Shilpa Layout flyover would make it easier to go to other areas without any disruption to traffic.

The flyover from ORR to Shilpa Layout and from there to ORR would be 956 metres.

The GHMC said the work included four components — a four lane bidirectional flyover from Shilpa Layout to ORR which splits into two independent two-lane flyovers; a two-lane unidirectional flyover for up ramp towards Mind Space; a two-lane unidirectional flyover for the down ramp from Mind Space.

The fourth component is the construction of a six-lane bidirectional flyover from ORR towards Kondapur, that is 816 metres long and 24 metres wide. This constitutes the second part.

Adjacent to the old Gachibowli flyover, the up ramp towards Kondapur is 475 metres long and 12 metres wide flyover, and the down ramp from Kondapur to Gachibowli is 305 metres long and 12 metres wide. This flyover will be completed by July 2023.
