Hyderabad: A solemn wreath-laying ceremony was organised on Saturday at the Military Hospital in Secunderabad for Lance Naik G. Ganga Prasad, whose mortal remains reached the city on Saturday. Prasad had gone missing along with 23 other Army personnel during a harrowing flash flood in Sikkim's Lachen Valley on October 4 in Sikkim. His body was found along with those of some of his some colleagues on Thursday night.

Family members, friends, and fellow soldiers gathered at the Military Hospital to bid farewell to their loved one.

His remains will be sent to his hometown of Kummampalle in Bodhan, Nizamabad district. The procession will travel by road, accompanied by military personnel, and is expected to reach its destination by night. The last rites will be performed with state honours.
