As part of this initiative, effective from July 1 onwards, free electricity is provided to consumers utilizing up to 200 units. However, individuals are required to register to avail themselves of the scheme's benefits.

According to government data, a total of 1,00,20,163 individuals have successfully registered as of July 5 night.

In Karnataka, the responsibility of power distribution lies with the Electricity Supply Companies (ESCOMs).
