KOZHIKODE: The SSLC students who find English a hard nut to crack need not worry. They can take the help of   'Easy English,' an educational programme being offered by the English Graduates Association (EGA), a collective of English teachers and English graduates in the district.   They give special classes to the students who are weak in the language and also provide  coaching to those who expect A-plus grade at the sub-district level. The programme, which was being conducted in the  Vadakara educational  district for the last 16 years, has been extended to  Kozhikode  and Thamarasserry educational districts  with the formation of panels in the areas.

"Each   panel will have 25 resource teachers. Besides, a helpline number, 'on call support' (9447929983, 9496938462) has been set up to clear the doubts of the students over phone," said   Mr Vadayakkandy Narayanan, secretary of EGA.  The schools and clubs can contact phone number 9447262801 for assistance.   The EGA teachers will take classes at schools on request. Besides, study materials and other resources are made available at www.egakerala.weebly.com.

"The service was started to help the students who find clearing English in the SSLC examination a Herculean task.  'Easy English' has been doing a yeoman service over the years," claimed Mr Narayanan.   The 16th anniversary of the initiative was celebrated at Vadakara recently when  Prof Kadathanatt Narayanan inaugurated the event. European traveller David Pelosi presided over the function.
