Special poojas at Sabarimala for Jayalalithaa

Kottayam: The Travancore Devaswom Board (TDB) dedicated today’s poojas at the Sabarimala temple for the speedy recovery of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalitha who is in a critical condition at the Apollo hospital Chennai. TDB President Prayar Gopalakrishnan told reporters at Sannidhanam that all the pooja rituals at Sabarimala would be dedicated to the health and welfare of Ms J Jayalalitha.

The police have also tightened security in view of the presence of a large number of people from Tamil Nadu at Sannidhanam. Earlier, late in the night on Sunday, the police cordoned off the fire as part of the offering next to the sanctum sanctorum. The police and the fire force had extinguished the fire at the ‘Aazhi’, a place where coconut shells are burned as part of a special ritual. The police said they were ready to face any eventuality.
