WARANGAL: IT minister K.T. Rama Rao urged representatives of IT companies to open their units in Nellore and Bhimavaram districts of AP. “If required, I would request Jagan anna (AP Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy) to take the initiative for setting up IT companies in AP,” he said.

After inaugurating the Global Development Centre of Quadrant Technologies at the IT Park at Madikonda in Warangal, Rama Rao said: “Do not think that the students who study in bigger cities have a lot of talent and can grab jobs. Talent is not city-centric. A student in Warangal or Bhimavaram too can get a job in any company,” he said.

“If you see Japan and Singapore, you will be surprised. They have less land, less water resource, and do not cultivate their lands, but both the countries are in a position to dictate other countries around the world,” he said.

“If youth want to transform the nation like that of Singapore and Japan, the youths must sharpen their brains. Instead of seeking job opportunities, they must try and create employment opportunities for others,” he said.

Telangana has constructed IT Hubs and was improving infrastructure in Tier II cities like Warangal, Nalgonda, Siddipet, Mahbubnagar, Khammam, Karimnagar, and Nizamabad to decentralise the growth of the IT sector. He appealed to the NRI community to set up offices in the Tier II cities to create employment opportunities.

Later, interacting with students of the Kakatiya University at Rampur village, Rama Rao sought an apology over incidents at the university campus in recent days. He asked police commissioner A. Ranganath to lift all the cases registered against the students.

Rao assured the students that he would speak to the TS Council for Higher Education chairman Prof. R. Limbadri, and resolve all the issues pertaining to Kakatiya University.
