THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A financial aid of Rs 26 lakh was given to the family of  slain RSS worker S. L. Rajesh by RSS joint national general secretary Dattatreya Hosabale at Rajesh’s house at Sreekariyam here on Thursday. The RSS state leadership had collected the amount in a statewide fund drive. The Sangh’s workers belonging to Thiruvananthapuram made the  major contribution. Dattatreya told Rajesh’s parents that their son’s murder had shocked the nation.

“Even when I was an office-bearer of ABVP several decades ago, I had asked the then CPM leaders in the state to hold talks  to prevent violence. But  the CPM never took the request seriously,”  he said. He  promised the family that the Sangh will take care of their requirements in future. Rajesh’s father Sudarshan, mother Lalitha Kumari, wife Reena and two children Adhithyan, a class 1 student of Kendriya Vidyalaya, Pattom, and Abhishek, a LKG student of Government Lower Primary School at  Sreekariyam, welcomed the RSS delegation. Several RSS workers from the district also accompanied the RSS leaders.
