CISO Councils to tackle cyber threats

 HYDERABAD: In what is a path-breaking initiative, Cyberabad police commissioner Stephen Raveendra, who is director of the TS Crime Records Bureau, unveiled the setting up of chief information security officer (CISO) councils.

He announced the pioneering initiative, jointly undertaken by industry and law enforcement, during the Hyderabad cyber summit here on Saturday. The collaboration aims to combat rising cyber threats that are affecting both the people and industry.

He highlighted the rapid changes evolved by cybercriminals, especially the use of Artificial Intelligence to disrupt various sectors. He called for a proactive approach to cyber security, and being vigilant by pre-empting such attacks.

The CISO council comprises cyber security experts and functional units like regional CERT, incident response force, SOC, threat intelligence, and more. Subject matter experts from industry have been exhorted to join the collaborative effort by reaching out to cisocouncil.tspcc@gmail.com.
