Cyber crimes: Three put under preventive detention

Officials said the detainees had cheated the public to the tune of Rs 64 lakh in the past.

Hyderabad: The Cyberabad Police Commissioner on Tuesday issued preventive detention orders against three notorious cybercrime offenders, staying in Kukatpally for making forged documents and cheating the public by withdrawing their money.

V.C. Sajjanar, Police Commissioner of Cyberabad, named the detainees as Peddinenei Shivaram Kumar, 35, Noothi Brahmeshwar Rao, 25, and Yalagani Naga Subramanyam, 34, all of whom were natives of Andhra Pradesh and stayed near Kukatpally.

“The offenders used to cheat the public online by preparing fake documents in fake names and addresses. They managed to obtain PAN cards and after that took  credit cards of different persons to withdraw money,” said the official.

Officials said the detainees had cheated the public to the tune of Rs 64 lakh in the past. They were arrested earlier too. The order was issued to stop them from committing any more crimes.
