Gas leak: PCB chief visits Brandix

Vishakapatnam: The AP Pollution Board principal secretary Vijay Kumar visited the apparel company at the Brandix SEZ on Thursday as per the instructions of Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy.

The departments concerned informed that a technical team should be formed on safety in industries across the state and inspections should be carried out in hazardous industries.

A team led by the Anakapalli collector Ravi Subhash Setti along with the technical team will investigate and find out what is the actual cause of the gas, he added.

"We examined the area of gas leakage and sent the machinery parts to the forensic lab," Kumar said while adding that they will find out the main reasons for the incident and suggest ways to prevent it.

“We will soon provide employment opportunities to women working in this company. Most of the women have already recovered from the gas leak incident and their health is not affected,” Kumar added.
