Punalur DySP A. Shanavas submitted the preliminary inquiry report to Kollam rural SP Ajeetha Beegum which has been forwarded to the police headquarters.

“A subsequent report from the headquarters may be  received on Friday  after which further action will be taken. The police have  already secured legal opinion on this,”  Ms  Ajeetha Beegum told Deccan Chronicle. The police have already collected evidence, including the recordings of the controversial speech.

Mr. Pillai had allegedly made derogatory comments against  Muslim and Christian communities. He justified the speech  saying that in community meetings, there would be matters that are not discussed outside. “I  spoke inside the four walls of the NSS karayogam and not in public. There is a conspiracy behind raising a controversy over my speech there,” Mr. Pillai had said.
