Cancer screening camp draws large number of women to Military Hospital

Hyderabad: Military Hospital, Secunderabad, conducted a cancer screening camp for women on Saturday on the occasion of World Cancer Day, and a large number of women availed of the facility.  They were screened by gynaecologists and certain tests were conducted.

USG and CA125 tests were done for the eligible population for screening of epithelial ovarian cancer. A maxillofacial surgeon screened them for oral cancer. Breast cancer and cervical cancer screening were done by lady medical and nursing officers to encourage the maximum number of women to undergo screening, a statement said.

Military Hospital commandant Brigadier Sanjay Singh and his staff were appreciated for the initiative and effort.

The cancer screening camp was inaugurated by Mohnish Sidana, chairperson, FWO MCEME, along with Jyoti Shankar, chairperson, FWO TASA, Minty Suresh, chairperson, FWO 1 EME Centre, and Dr Vijayshree Singh. They visited the reception, breast cancer, cervical cancer, oral cancer, epithelial ovarian cancer and the USG clinic of the screening camp.

Mohnish Sidana gave away prizes to the winners of the poster competition.
