Tirupati Sees Slight Surge in Covid Cases

Tirupati: Tirupati district is experiencing a slight increase in COVID-19 infections, with reportedly over 20 people testing positive as of Wednesday. According to sources, more than 20 Covid patients are undergoing treatment at the Ruia Government General Hospital in Tirupati.

Several individuals who visited the hospital's triage center with suspected symptoms tested positive on rapid antigen tests and were transferred to an isolation ward. Hospital officials have stated that the condition of all patients is currently stable.

Following protocol, swab samples were collected from the infected individuals for RT-PCR confirmation. Notably, two women from Penumur, among the initial cases, have fully recovered after the required treatment and have been discharged.

The district medical and health department has appealed to the public to adhere to Covid safety measures such as wearing masks and maintaining hygiene. Officials have also advised individuals experiencing any Covid-like symptoms to promptly seek tests and medical care.
