Chennai: Techie's wife kills herself
The reason for the suicide is not immediately known and enquiry by revenue divisional officer has been ordered.
Chennai: A 21-year-old wife of a software professional, committed suicide by hanging herself from the ceiling at her house in Velachery on Fridaynight. The woman Srivani from Andhra Pradesh was married six months ago to Nagarjuna.
The reason for the suicide is not immediately known and enquiry by revenue divisional officer has been ordered. The couple was staying in a rented house at Padmavathi Nagar in Velachery. Nagarjuna is employed at a software company in Sholinganallur and he returned home on Friday night.
The owner of the house, B. Sambandam checked Sri Vani’s house as she failed to come out till evening. As there was no response to his knocks on the door he alerted the Velachery police personnel.
The police visited the house and broke open the door to find her hanging from the ceiling in the bedroom. On information, Sri Vani’s husband Nagarjuna rushed home. Based on Sambandam’s complaint, police have registered a case under the CrPC Section 174 (unnatural death) and further investigations are on.
Police sent Sri Vani’s body to the Government Royapettah Hospital for autopsy. They also informed Sri Vani’s parents in AP. The body was handed over to them after autopsy.
