Hyderabad: Due to the upcoming long weekend next week from August 12, resorts on the outskirts of the city claim they are now fully booked.

Good rains and some fantastic weather have ensured that the city outskirts are lush green this time of the year, ideal for short vacations and long roads trips along the region’s excellent highways.

Adventure sports, trekking, water rides and even camping are being planned by families in the city.

Mr Avinash Jha, facility manager with a resort said, “We also have camping facilities at our resorts and those slots were taken first. People are looking forward to destinations where they get the feel of the environment and want to live a few days in open but safe conditions.”

Similarly, resorts across Vikarabad, which are offering treks, rock climbing and rope bridges, remain top favourites. Mr Vinod Kumar, a facility manager said,

“People are looking not only to relax but want to me the best of their available time.” Most of the resorts have now organised karaoke sessions after dinner for upto two hours.

Mr Shahbaz Hussain, a resort owner, said, “The point of going to a resort is no longer sitting in front of a television screen.

“Friends in groups are all coming forward to relax and also engage in what they miss out in the city. That means people are now keen on playing both indoor and outdoor games. They just want to avail of everything which allows them to escape routines.”
