Hyderabad: The Forum for Good Governance (FGG) has written to chief secretary Somesh Kumar on Tuesday urging him to review the functioning of various corporations that are a drain on the state exchequer. It has requested the state government to close down defunct corporations as they have become rehabilitation centres for politicians who are spent force.

“There are close to 70 corporations and development authorities functioning in Telangana state/ Barring a few, most of the corporations were created to rehabilitate worn-out politicians. There is no mechanism to review their work. A few of them are not doing anything,” said M. Padmanabha Reddy, secretary of FGG.
