Hyderabad: Case booked over Quran verses printed on crackers

Mr Mohammed Sultan of Kalapathar had approached police with some crackers, in which he claimed that Quranic verses are printed in Arabic.

Hyderabad: Kalapathar police booked a case against a cracker manufacturer for insulting religious feeling of a community for using certain verses on crackers.

Mr Mohammed Sultan of Kalapathar had approached police with some crackers, in which he claimed that Quranic verses are printed in Arabic.  He stated that a boy in his neighbourhood had purchased crackers from a shop in Hussaini Alam. While bursting them, he noticed Arabic letters on the crackers. When he looked carefully, they turned out to be Quran verses.

Kalapathar police said they had collected the cracker samples and issued an FIR. “We are trying to find out who manufactured them,” said an official from Kalapathar police station.
