Adilabad: Adivasis and the members including women of Thudum Debba from Komaram Bheem colony of Bhattisavargaon on Monday started a padayatra from Adilabad town to Pragathi Bhavan in Hyderabad, demanding the state government issue pattas for the house sites in survey No: 72 as per the G.O. no: 58 under Gruhalakshmi scheme. A large number of Adivasis were residing in huts they had set up on the government lands in the area.

Thudum Debba district president Godam Ganesh and general secretary Purka Bapurao said the officials concerned had failed to issue pattas to the house sites despite several appeals. They said they would reach Hyderabad on October 10 and try to meet Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao to submit a memorandum for their demand. BJP leader Ch. Suhasini Reddy extended her support to Adivasis’s demand.
