Father Tom Uzhunnalil to meet CM Pinarayi Vijayan, Governor P Sathasivam today

Father Tom is also expected to call on Governor P. Sathasivam at Raj Bhavan later in the evening.

Thiruvananthapuram: Father Tom Uzhunnalil, who was rescued on September 12 after being held captive for 18 months by ISIS terrorists in Yemen, will be accorded a public reception in Thiruvananthapuram on Tuesday at 5 pm at Girideepam Convention Centre at Nalanchira. On his arrival, Father Tom will meet CBCI president and Baselios Cardinal Cleemis Catholicos at Pattom Major Archbishops House at 11:30 am.  He will later rest at Salesian House here at New Theatre road at Thampanoor. Later at 5 pm, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan will preside over the public meeting where Father Tom will be given a rousing reception.

Former Chief Minister Oommen Chandy, Dr. Philipose Mar Chrysostom Mar Thoma Valiya Metropolitan, Mayor V. K. Prasanth, Sivagiri Mutt general secretary Swami Sandrananda, Palayam Imam Hussain Moulavi, Bishop Samuel Mar Irenios,  Auxillary Bishop R. Christudas of Thiruvananthapuram Latin Catholic diocese will also attend the public meeting. After his speech, Father Tom will leave for Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan's official home at Cliff House.  Father Tom is also expected to call on Governor P. Sathasivam at Raj Bhavan later in the evening.
