Hyderabad: Tipper lorry hits bike, woman killed

The couple and the woman were triple riding on the bike when a rashly driven lorry hit them from behind

Hyderabad: A woman was killed and two others were injured in a mishap at Uppal bus depot when a tipper lorry hit their bike from the rear on Saturday. The deceased, A. Varamma, 51, was the wife of Balreddy, a resident of Ghatkesar. The injured are Narasimha Reddy, 27, a private sector employee, and his wife, Radha, 28.

“The couple and the woman were triple riding on the bike when a rashly driven lorry hit them from behind, killing the woman on the spot and gravely injuring the others,” said SI Sudhakar of Medipally. “The driver of the tipper is absconding,” added the SI. The injured couple was rushed to hospital. Radha’s condition is critical. Based on a complaint from Narasimha Reddy, Medipally police booked a case against the tipper driver.
