18 papers presented at national conference on Srisailam

 Kurnool: The three-day national conference on the ‘Grandeur of Srisailam’ concluded on Sunday in the presence of deputy chief minister and endowments minister Kottu Satyanarayana.

The president of the temple trust board R Chakrapani Reddy, executive officer S Lavanna, members of the trust board of the Matham Virupakshaiah Swamy and Hanumanthu Nayak also participated in the discussions.

The conference  featured 18 personalities associated with the Srisailam temple. They presented their research papers. The programme on Sunday was presided over by Prof Sampath Kumar, director of the Centre for Ancient Telugu Studies, Nellore.

The afternoon session was presided over by former director of Telugu Academy, Prof Yadagiri. Assistant professor Sobhan Babu and Editor of Srisailaprabha, Srisaila Devasthanam, Anil Kumar, shared their insights through paper presentations.

The other speakers were Anil Kumar from Narayana IAS Academy, Hyderabad, who focused on the theme, Srisailam in the works of Kavisamrat Viswanatha, and Bheempalli Srikanth, a teacher specialising Srisailam literature and cultural sculpture.

Dhulipala Ramakrishna, head of the Sanskrit department at a Vijayawada College, shed light on Srisaila Vaibhavam in the puranas, while Ayluru Umavenkata Jawaharlal, an assistant Sthapathi at Srisaila Devasthanam, presented a paper on the renovation of Panchamathas. Ganesh Jillellamudi shared their insights on the unique practices of Srisailagiri pradakshina.

Notable personalities such as Vedanta Rajagopala Chakravarthy, director of the Archaka training academy of the Endowments department and Srinivasa Rao, dean of the local Telugu University, were also present.
