VIJAYAWADA: Former minister and YSR Congress MLA Perni Venkatramaiah Nani refuted allegations of TD chief N. Chandrababu Naidu that YSRC government has imposed a debt of Rs. 10 lakh crore on Andhra Pradesh.

Nani maintained that when Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy had been sworn in as Chief minister of AP on May 30, 2019, Chandrababu had already put Andhra Pradesh under Rs. 2.62 lakh crore debt.

The former minister underlined that the Jagan government has taken debts of only Rs. 1.82 lakh crore, whereas it has directly deposited into people's accounts Rs. 2.11 lakh crores.

Nani objected to the TD chief wishing people on Friday saying it is the AP Formation Day. He wondered whether Naidu thought that he is in Telangana when he wished people about the state formation day. He made it clear that for the past four years, Andhra Pradesh has been celebrating the AP Formation Day on November 1.

The former minister recalled that in fact when Chandrababu had been in power, he had staged dharnas and wore black badges, cursing Congress high-command’s Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi for breaking the state. But he never said a single word about BJP, which strongly supported the division of Andhra Pradesh.
