Hyderabad: A 55-year old woman was injured when Vikarabad MLA B Sanjeev Rao’s vehicle hit her at Bantwaram in Vikarabad district on Thursday evening.
The incident happened when the MLA was returning after attending a wedding.

The victim, Manemma 55, was sitting outside her house drying grains when the car hit her.  She was injured in her right leg, after which she collapsed. Since the entrance into the lane had a sharp curve, the driver Narsimhulu did not notice the woman sitting towards the right corner of the road and hit her.

Enraged with incident, locals damaged the car and broke the window panes. The woman was shifted to a nearby hospital, where she was said to be out of danger.

However the MLA got down from the vehicle and pacified the villagers and assured them of getting her treated. “The woman was sitting in the middle of the road, which our driver could not notice. He is admitted to a hospital and is out of danger now,” the MLA said.
