HYDERABAD: Thousands of women took part in Bathukamma festivities held at Ramanthapur on Saturday night.

Former Uppal MLA of the BJP, N.V.S.S. Prabhakar, who organised the event described Bathukamma as unique to Indian culture, where people find God in all the creatures present in nature. “Bathukamma being played traditionally in Telangana is a unifying factor. It not only emphasises the protection of nature, but is also helpful in promoting culture,” he said.
