Thiruvananthapuram: Admission Supervisory and Fee Regulatory Committee (ASFRC) headed by Justice R. Rajendra Babu has asked the medical college managements to submit the detailed prospectus to the committee. The panel made it clear that spot admissions will be conducted by the commissioner for entrance examinations. Each self-financing college should submit its prospectus containing vision, mission and objectives, the organisation that controls it, address and contact details including the website and email address.
Other detailed to be provided are names and mobile phone numbers of key persons, the academic programmes offered with sanctioned intake with category wise details, the head wise fee structure of college and hostel, details of the regular faculty members with photo, details of infrastructure both physical and academic, details of the hospital facilities, students facilities provided, the authenticated result of three previous years, the details of admission procedure with eligibility criteria and other statutory requirements. If any seats fall vacant, that shall be filled by the medical and dental colleges under the strict supervision of the CEE.
The complaints/ grievances of the applicants should be instantly heard and disposed of by the college. The complaints before the AFRC will also be disposed of and directions issued, as far as possible, by hearing both sides. If ex parte interim orders issued, the same will be adhered to by the colleges. A candidate, who apply for an NRI seat should submit the Embassy certificate, consulate or Green Card documents and OCI documents of their respective sponsors.
In the case of non-submission of embassy certificate, the endorsement in the passport of the sponsor about the employment will be accepted. The certificates establishing the relationship between the candidate and the sponsor shall be obtained only from the concerned tahsildar or village officer, with the required details and corroborating documents for NRI seat admissions. Mere statements by the tahsildar and village officer stating the relationship shall not be accepted.
