TSRTC salutes statehood martyrs

HYDERABAD: The Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) celebrated the tenth Telangana Foundation Day in a grand manner at Bus Bhavan, its headquarters, here on Friday.

Speakers recalled that the employees of the corporation from the Telangana region had played a proactive part during the statehood movement.

The slogan ‘Telangana Nehi To RTC ka Paiyya Hilega Nahin’ and the determination of 56,604 employees, who ignored the threat of losing their jobs, while on a 29-day strike, were high points of the agitation, said corporation managing director V.C. Sajjanar after unfurling the National Flag on the occasion. 

Incidentally, many employees who took part in the movement and artists and poets participated in the event.

Sajjanar said, “Many people were martyred in the first and third phases of the Telangana movement. Our corporation is paying tribute to all the martyrs.”
