HC mandates adhering to Wakf Deed

Chairman of the Wakf Board Mohammed Saleem, who had promised to visit the masjid could not do so as it was a holiday but he assured the protesting youths he will visit on Monday.

HYDERABAD: The Telangana High Court directed the Telangana State Wakf Board and self-proclaimed muttawalli committee Ibadath Khana e-Hussaini at Darul Shifa to adhere to the terms of Wakf Deed dated 15.02.1953 executed by Wakifs in 1953, in utilising the Ibadath Khana.

Anjuman-e-Alavi, Shia Imamia Ithna Ashari Akhbari filed a petition before the High Court alleging that the muttawalli committee had illegally built a mosque where the Ibadath Khana is.

After hearing the contentions of counsel Mir Lukman Ali, the court directed the Wakf Board and others to follow the Wakf deed terms.
