Explosion at scrap shop, no casualty

HYDERABAD: An explosion occurred in a scrap shop in Gampala Basthi, the second such incident in a week, under Jeedimetla police said on Wednesday. There were no casualties but thick smoke spread in the area, forcing residents to vacate their homes out of fear. 

A scrap shop owner had died in an explosion in the same area on Tuesday.

Wednesday’s explosion which occurred at about 5 pm brought down the structure. The explosion occurred beating a chemical container.

Two fire tenders and police rushed to the spot. Jeedimetla inspector M. Pavan said the cause of the explosion is being probed. Samples have been sent for forensic examination.
