Tirupati: The representatives of various Dalit organisations took out a massive a rally in Srikalahasti town and lodged a police complaint against the Telugu Desam’s constituency incharge Bojjala Venkata Sudhir Reddy.

The rally was taken out in condemnation of Sudhir Reddy’s alleged attempts to derive political mileage by portraying random deaths as a case of an honour killing. The representatives of the Dalit organisations alleged that the TD’s Srikalahasti constituency incharge has tried to trigger blame on local MLA B. Madhusudhan Reddy for the random deaths.

It may be recalled that the Srikalahasti police had retrieved the bodies of a young man and a woman from a local water body about a week ago. In this backdrop, Sudhir Reddy went on to allege that the body was belonged to a Dalit girl Chandrita, who eloped with her lover Chandrasekhar, a village volunteer, about nine months ago. He alleged that the girl was raped and murdered by the ruling party activists.

While the TD leader continue to blame the local MLA for the deaths of Dalit girl and her boyfriend during the last one week, the young couple released a selfie video, claiming that they were still alive and not dead, as was being alleged by Sudhir Reddy. As the video came out, the representatives of the Dalit organisations have lodged a complaint and demanded that the police initiate criminal proceedings against the TD’s constituency incharge.
