2 killed, 24 injured as van overturns in Andhra ghat road

Visakhapatnam:  Two children were killed and 24 others injured when the van in which they were travelling turned turtle in the district, police said.

The mishap occurred at around 7.30 AM on the ghat road near Luthupeta under Annavaram police station limits in Vizag agency, a senior police official said.

The van occupants, mostly small traders, were going to attend the weekly-market at Korukonda area, he said.

The deceased were identified as K Ganesh (12) and G Narasinga Rao (14). Of the 24 injured, the condition of 10 is said to be serious and they were admitted to a nearby hospital, he added.

A case was registered and a probe is on, said the official.
