RTC bus kills woman, speeds away at Kukatpally

The police are now trying to identify the bus which hit her.

Hyderabad: A 41-year-old woman motorist was killed after an RTC bus rammed her scooter at Kukatpally, on Friday.

B. Sujatha, a resident of RC Puram was working for a private firm in the city. She was returning from a visit to the ESI hospital at Erragadda when she was hit by the bus at the junction near Shivananda Rehabilitation center in Kukatpally.

Sujatha fell on the road with severe head injuries and the bus sped away. She later succumbed to injuries while undergoing treatment at a private hospital nearby. The police are now trying to identify the bus which hit her.

“The bus was overspeeding and it hit her from the rear and simply sped away,” K. Naidu, sub Inspector from the Kukatpally Police station, said. “We are checking all CCTV cameras nearby to trace the RTC bus. The road was empty because it was the afternoon and people rushed to the site to help the victim. No one kept an eye on the bus,” Mr Naidu added.
