AP celebrates National Science Day all over state

Vijayawada: Universities and educational institutions within Andhra Pradesh celebrated the National Science Day on Tuesday with emphasis on scientific temper and technological development in the country.

AIIMS Mangalagiri director Mukesh Tripathi inaugurated the day at SRM University-AP, pointing out that National Science Day is celebrated annually throughout India on February 28 in honour of Indian physicist Sir C.V. Raman, who received the Nobel Prize in 1930 for his discovery – Raman Effect.
“Global Science for Global Wellbeing is the theme for this year’s National Science Day,” Dr. Tripathi underlined while emphasising that research should be applied for advancement of humankind.

In this context, SRM-AP pro-vice chancellor Prof. D Narayana Rao referred to the university establishing a Centre of Excellence for AI in Drug Development. Over 200 students from neighbouring schools participated in an exhibition, where 43 exhibits had been displayed.

VIT-AP University displays scientific exhibits

School of Advanced Sciences and Innovation of VIT-AP University organised a programme on the occasion in which Padmasri B.V.R. Mohan Reddy, founder chairman and board member of Cyient participated. Dr. Rakeshwar Bandichhor, vice-president of Dr. Reddy’s Labs, Satish Rajamani, IT entrepreneur, leadership coach and adjunct professor, New Jersey, attended the programme as guests of honour.
