Hyderabad: The Kapra Lake Revival Group and Hyderabad Cycling Revolution (HCR), a community that promotes active mobility, cleaned Kapra lake on Sunday, removing plastic and other material from the waters. The Tellapur Neighbourhood Association also organised a cleaning drive at the Mellacheruvu on Sunday with support from the municipal staff.

Setting up tea stalls after clearing garbage vulnerable points (GVPs), GHMC Kukatpally officials have now decided to set up places where people can play chess and carrom. "We have noticed that, merely removing the garbage vulnerable points is not working. Only by replacing them with an establishment is yielding results with people refraining from dumping garbage there," said a GHMC official. The officials have also decided to set up similar establishments that can create employment for employment for women self help groups.
