Haryana College Student Held for Spying for Pakistan
Khalsa College student Devendra Singh Dhillon arrested for allegedly passing military details to ISI after visit through Kartarpur corridor.
A 25-year-old political science student from Khalsa College, Patiala, was arrested in Kaithal, Haryana, on May 12 for allegedly spying for Pakistan's Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI). The student, Devendra Singh Dhillon, had visited Pakistan via the Kartarpur corridor in November and reportedly shared sensitive information, including photos of the Patiala military cantonment, with ISI officers.
During interrogation, Dhillon admitted to uploading gun images on Facebook and receiving money from Pakistani handlers. His phone has been sent for forensic analysis, and his bank transactions are under scrutiny to trace the financial links with Pakistan.
Dhillon’s arrest comes just days after another suspected spy, 24-year-old Nauman Ilahi, was arrested in Panipat. Ilahi, a security guard from Uttar Pradesh, was reportedly receiving funds through his brother-in-law and a company driver to provide sensitive information to Pakistan.
In a related development, Punjab Police last week arrested two individuals, including a woman, for alleged links to a Pakistani official posted at the High Commission in Delhi.
These arrests come amid heightened vigilance following Operation Sindoor and the May 10 ceasefire agreement between India and Pakistan, reached after cross-border strikes targeted nine terror sites in Pakistan and PoK in response to the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack.
