Gudivada Woman Charged with Cheating

Vijayawada: The Gudivada Taluk Police booked a woman named Leelavathi for alleged cheating. Leelavathi, who reportedly offered loan services by claiming connections with microfinance and private banks, is accused of borrowing Rs. 1.50 lakh from three people without repaying them.

"Initial reports suggested Leelavathi may have borrowed from nearly 30 people in the town for a total of Rs. 1.50 crore. However, after verifying bank transactions, we confirmed that the complainants lent a combined sum of Rs. 1.50 lakh to the accused," said Gudivada Taluk circle inspector N.L.N. Murthy.
