Govt Dismisses Rumours Of Gold Monetisation Scheme For Temple Trusts
Such rumours are completely false, misleading and without any basis: Finance ministry
NEW DELHI: Dismissing the reports, which claimed that the government would plan to introduce a gold monetisation scheme for temple trusts and religious institutions across the country, the Centre on Tuesday clarified that it has no plans to introduce a gold monetisation scheme for temple trusts or religious institutions.
In social media, the finance ministry said that it debunked rumours claiming temple gold structures would be classified as strategic reserves and urged the public to ignore unverified information. “Such rumours are completely false, misleading and without any basis,” the finance ministry said.
The ministry further said that spreading unverified information creates unnecessary confusion and may mislead the public. “The government urges all citizens to rely only on official communications issued through authorised channels. Any information regarding policy decisions or government schemes will be shared through official press releases and government websites,” it added.
