New Delhi: Billionaire entrepreneur Elon Musk is known for openly sharing his views on a wide range of topics. In a recent conversation with The Economist Editor-in-Chief Zanny Minton Beddoes, Musk revealed that his partner, Shivon Zilis, is half Indian and rejected allegations of racism against him.

"My partner, she's half Indian, and I have four children with her," Musk said, referring to Shivon Zilis, an executive at Neuralink. "One of them was named after a famous Indian physicist, so I would say I'm not racist."

Musk said his son, Strider Sekhar, was named in honour of two inspirations. The name "Strider" comes from Aragorn's alias in J.R.R. Tolkien's The Lord of the Rings, while "Sekhar" pays tribute to renowned Indian-American astrophysicist Subrahmanyan Chandrasekhar, who was awarded the 1983 Nobel Prize in Physics.

Musk also pointed to the diversity within his companies to counter allegations of racism. He said his businesses employ senior executives from different backgrounds, adding that he sees no evidence of racism in his organisations. “There are senior executives of all races,” he said. “I don’t think there’s any racism there.”
