Waiting Shed Collapses in UP’s Charbagh Railway Station, Two Injured

The Northern Railway has announced that the Site Engineer responsible for the incident has been immediately suspended

Lucknow: A tin waiting shed collapsed in Charbagh Railway Station in Lucknow on Friday, leaving two passengers injured.

The incident happened around late morning on Friday on Platform number 5 at the railway station. The metal roofing fell on passengers, leaving two trapped under the rubbles. They were rescued by the Railway Police force and local rescue operators.

The Northern Railway has announced that the Site Engineer responsible for the incident has been immediately suspended. The agency that had the contract of building and maintaining the sheds will be awarded with heavy penalties, and a high-level committee has been formed to investigate the incident, the Northern Railway added in a statement.
