Schoolmate Meets PM Modi, Gets Land Back Grabbed by BJP MLA

PM Modi’s 81-year-old schoolmate gets relief in a longstanding dispute over his land parcel grabbed by local MLA in the Bhayandar suburb of Maharashtra, after he met the PM himself and raised the issue and requested for his intervention into the matter.
Asgar Ali Vora, a resident of Thane, had purchased over 2000 square metres of land in Navnagar in the Bhayandar East locality of Thane district in 1989.
His years-long ordeal over this land parcel would start in 2011, when local BJP leader Narendra Mehta and his company took over this property without Vora’s consent, for construction of buildings.
Over the years, the local BJP Narendra Mehta would grow powerful, becoming the Mira Bhayandar Municipal Corporation mayor and later the local MLA.
Vora, would go on for a legal fight that spanned over 15 years, before finally settling out of court, after getting an appointment with PM Modi, his schoolmate at the BN School in Vadnagar, Gujarat.
After the meeting, government officials took up the matters as calls came from higher rungs of the bureaucracy, and convened a meeting with Vora, Mehta, principal secretary to the Maharashtra CM, municipal commissioner, town planner, etc.
After the meeting, Mehta said he is ready to give up the possession of the land parcel and the permission to do construction on it, and also he was ready to withdraw the cases he had lodged against the Prime Minister’s schoolmate Vohra.
