Protest Erupts in Indore Over Killings of Hindus in Bangladesh
Expressing anger over the situation, BJP leader Akash Vijayvargiya said the entire country was outraged by the events unfolding in Bangladesh
Indore: BJP workers staged a protest in Madhya Pradesh’s Indore on Saturday against the alleged atrocities against Hindus in Bangladesh.
Expressing anger over the situation, BJP leader Akash Vijayvargiya said the entire country was outraged by the events unfolding in Bangladesh. He stated that Hindus form a majority in India and live peacefully, while the situation in Bangladesh reflects a contrasting reality.
Vijayvargiya also targeted Nobel laureate Muhammad Yunus, saying that he did not deserve the Nobel Peace Prize. He added that BJP workers would write to the Swedish government seeking the withdrawal of the award.
He further criticised the Congress party, alleging selective outrage. Vijayvargiya said that while Congress leaders raised strong protests over attacks in Palestine, they had remained silent on the issue of alleged atrocities against Hindus in Bangladesh.
Expressing confidence in the Centre’s handling of the matter, Vijayvargiya said the central government was actively intervening through diplomatic channels. He added that the BJP had complete faith in Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the government’s leadership on the issue.
Vijayvargiya also urged countries that showed sympathy towards Gaza to extend similar concern for Hindus in Bangladesh, stating that key decisions were being taken after careful consideration by senior officials.
Meanwhile, members of the Indian and Bangladeshi Hindu communities in London staged a protest outside the Bangladesh High Commission on Saturday against the alleged killing of Hindus in Bangladesh.
During the protest, demonstrators played ‘Amar Shonar Bangla’, the national anthem of Bangladesh, and raised slogans demanding an end to violence against religious minorities in the country.
The protest in London followed a wave of demonstrations across India on Friday over reported atrocities against Hindus in Bangladesh.
