Centre Disbursed Rs 36,754 cr To Beneficiary Companies Under Production Linked Incentive Schemes

New Delhi: The government on Friday said that the Centre disbursed Rs 36,754 crore to beneficiary companies under the Production Linked Incentive (PLI) schemes since the launch in 2020 till June 30 this year, with the largest amount of Rs 19,090.98 crore released to large-scale electronics manufacturing, according to the government.
As per the data released by department for promotion of industry and internal trade (DPIIT) under commerce ministry, a total of Rs 1,400 crore was disbursed in this fiscal year until June 30. “The disbursal was Rs 15,519 crore in 2025-26 and Rs 10,114 crore in 2024-25,” the data showed.
The government launched the schemes in 2020 for 14 sectors, with an approved outlay of Rs 1.91 lakh crore, to enhance manufacturing capabilities, attract investment, promote exports, generate employment, and reduce import dependence. “While Rs 6,662 crore was disbursed to the pharma sector, Rs 3,271.440 crore and Rs 3,174.15 crore were released to the beneficiary firms of food products and auto and auto components segments, respectively, as on June this year,” the data showed.
“Other disbursals included Rs 2,796 crore for telecom and networking products; Rs 593 crore for white goods; Rs 386 crore for textiles; Rs 236 crore for speciality steel; Rs 93 crore for drones and drone components; Rs 98 crore for IT hardware; and Rs 88 crore for bulk drugs beneficiary companies,” the DPIIT said.
However, there were no disbursals in the advanced chemistry cell (ACC) battery sector. “As on June 30, 2026, the schemes have resulted in actual investment of Rs 2.58 lakh crore, against which production/sales of Rs 23.79 lakh crore and exports of Rs 15.53 lakh crore have been recorded,” the DPIIT said, adding that these schemes have led to the employment generation of over 14.57 lakh (direct and indirect) along with Rs 36,754 crore of cumulative incentives disbursed so far.
“Major global players such as Siemens, Wipro GE and Philips have participated in technology-transfer projects, enabling domestic manufacture of CT/MRI systems, cath labs and ultrasonography equipment. PLI beneficiaries have generated Rs 6,475 crore in domestic sales, with Rs 560 crore exports and Rs 1,400 crore revenue from implants,” it said.
