Amit Shah to Move Kerala Name Change, Co-operative Bills in LS
Various Parliamentary Standing Committees will present their reports during the proceedings
New Delhi: Union Home Minister Amit Shah is set to move the Kerala (Alteration of Name) Bill, 2026 and the National Co-operative Development Corporation (Amendment) Bill, 2026 for consideration and passage in the Lok Sabha on Tuesday.
According to the Revised List of Business, Shah will move the motion for consideration of the Bill seeking to alter the name of the State of Kerala and subsequently seek its passage. He will also move the National Co-operative Development Corporation (Amendment) Bill, 2026, which seeks to amend the National Co-operative Development Corporation Act, 1962.
The four key Bills, including the Tribunals Reforms Bill, 2026, and the Mines and Minerals (Development and Regulation) Amendment Bill, 2026, were introduced in the Lok Sabha on Monday amid uproar.
The House will begin proceedings with Question Hour at 11 am, followed by the laying of papers by several Union Ministers.
The Secretary General of the Lok Sabha will also report two messages received from the Rajya Sabha concerning the Bankers' Books Evidence Bill, 2026 and the Taxation and Other Laws (Amendment) Bill, 2026.
Various Parliamentary Standing Committees will present their reports during the proceedings. These include reports by the Committees on Housing and Urban Affairs and Rural Development and Panchayati Raj on issues including rural skilling, migration, land records modernisation and implementation of rural development schemes.
Several Union Ministers will also make statements on the implementation of recommendations of Parliamentary Standing Committees before the House takes up matters under Rule 377 and proceeds with the legislative agenda.
