Visakhapatnam: Tourism minister Muttamsetti Srinivasa Rao has asked youth to enhance their skills for getting better opportunities in the job market.

Addressing a Job Fair organised by AP Skill Development Corporation at a corporate college in Visakhapatnam on Tuesday, he said communication skills, hard work and commitment are very important, especially for youth, to find employment.

The minister said 32 companies have come forward with offers of 1,860 job offers in the current Job Fair.

He pointed out that Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy has brought out a GO reserving 75 per cent jobs for locals with a focus on unemployed youth. This way, if they are also skilled, the jobless will stand a better chance of finding employment.

Participating in the function, joint collector M. Venugopal Reddy said the state government is taking steps to enhance skills of youth, so that they are better equipped in landing a job. He pointed out that Bhimili constituency has already been allotted a skill development college and three more such colleges will be coming up in Visakhapatnam district.
