Andhra Pradesh: Babu has eyes on industrial permits

Guntur: Guntur district collector  K. Sasidhar warned officials of stern action if they failed to act promptly with regard to sanctioning permission to new industries there.

The district industries promotion committee meeting was held in Guntur on Wednesday to review steps being taken to promote industries.

The collector was told that 96 applications were cleared against a total of 116 for new industries under the single window system and 544 applications about industrial incentives were cleared against a total of 714 applications in Guntur district.

Mr Sasidhar directed the officials of all departments to work in coordination to sanction permissions for new industries under the single window system. 

He directed them to conduct awareness programmes among rural educated youth to start new industries.

He said entrepreneurs would come forward to start industries when they get permissions. Mr Sasidhar expressed dissatisfaction at the explanation of officials on pending applications.
