Andhra Pradesh: Arrangements made for President's visit

Nellore: Security is being beefed up for the visit of President Ram Nath Kovind to Tirumala on September 1 and 2. 

Chittoor District Collector P.S. Pradyumna reviewed preparations for the maiden visit of the President to Tirupati on Wednesday.

TTD top brass including Tirupati JEO Pola Bhaskar, Tirupati Urban SP Abhishek Mahanti, and Joint Collector Girisha among others were present at the review meeting.

The collector said that they should make arrangements keeping in mind that Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and Governor E.S.L. Narasimhan will also be present.

He asked officials to keep ambulances, fire trucks and sufficient place for parking ready.

The President will arrive at 3.15 pm on September 1 and proceed to Tiruchanoor to worship Goddess Padmavati. He will then inaugurate the new SVIMS buildings. After taking part in a dinner hosted by Mr Naidu, he will proceed to Tirumala before  returning around 10 am on September 2.
