Hyderabad: All star hotels (three star and above) and top restaurants in the city remained open on Tuesday despite the call for shutdown by the South India Hotels Association.

Luxury hotels like Taj Krishna, Taj Deccan, Taj Falaknuma, Novotel, Park, Daspalla Green Park, and Ohris in the city did business as usual.

According to Pradeeep Kumar Dutt, the vice-president of Hotels and    Restaurants  Associ-ation of Telangana State, hotels above 3-star category have a separate union.

“We are part of the Federation of Hotels and Restaurants Association of India that has representation from all states. Our national body gave instructions that they are taking up the GST issue at the national level and hence state units were not asked to take up separate protests,” he said.
