HYDERABAD: The Telangana High Court has sought a reply from the state government and Telangana Public Service Commission on conducting a Common Recruitment Test for various categories/cadre of posts, including 1,521 Group-IV ministerial posts in various departments of the state, 72 vacancies of Junior Assistant (Personnel) and (Finance) in TSRTC, 124 vacancies of Bill Collector posts in GHMC and 76 vacancies of Assistant Accounts Officer Grade-II, Assistant Stores Officer Grade-II and Data Processing Assistant Grade-II State cadre posts, belonging to the state beverages corporation.

Justice Abhinand Kumar Shavili was dealing with a batch of petitions filed against conducting common competitive recruitment test and declaring the merit list as common for all posts, despite notifications for recruitment being issued separately, for different educational qualifications. The court wants to know the government’s stand, on the contention of petitioners, by Monday.

The petitioners submitted that four notifications were issued separately by the TSPSC for recruitment to the above-mentioned posts, mentioning the requisites, with various educational qualifications and application fee.

Examination fees were collected separately. Further, they submitted that the TSPSC had issued common hall tickets and conducted common exams even when the posts belonged to different categories, including district, state and zones.

The petitioners urged the court to stay the common merit list published by the TSPSC on March 19, 2019 and the process of recruitment to fill up the posts.
The petitioners submitted that they had applied for more than one post, based on the separate notifications.
