KOCHI: A petition has been filed in the Supreme Court seeking an investigation either by the Central Bureau of Investigation or by a special investigation team into the circumstances in which the Kerala government has brought in an ordinance to regularise admissions in medical colleges in the state seven months after the apex court had dismissed appeals against their cancellation.

In a petition, R. Gokul  Prasad, a native of Shoranur, said the government introduced the legal measure when one of the chairmen of the medical colleges had an FIR registered against him.    Meanwhile, N.M. Pearson, parent of a student whose admission got cancelled, told DC that he would implead in the petition. “I would want the apex court order an investigation into the irregularities  not only in two colleges but also in others, too,” he said.
